Festive Nugget Holder Video

Good Morning,
I am excited to share my first video with you today - this was my first experience of making a movie & (obviously) I don't really know what I'm doing with the whole iMovie thing but I sure had fun putting this together!
Sharing a super easy project that would be a fun little gift to hand out over the Holidays.

Have a great day! Brenda

Senior Center Samples

I thought you might like to take a peek at what we made this month at the senior center - First this simple card using the Come to Bethlehem stamp set (1/2 price today!)
We added the little rhinestone to the star which really finished it off I think.

Then we made this little favor - it holds some Nuggets that have been wrapped in 1"x3" strips of Designer Series Paper. Super easy and a great way to share a little love over the Holidays...
We stamped the greeting using More Merry Messages (also on sale today!) and then punched it out using the Designer Series Label Punch (Yep, on sale too!)

Are you a senior? You are invited to join Robin and I at the Pine River Senior Center on the 3rd Tuesday of every month where you will make 2 cards for just $1. No experience necessary and we always have a fun time!

Here is a list of the materials we used for these projects - the sale prices apply today only.
Come to Bethlehem Stamp set - Wood mount $9.98 - usually $19.95! Clear mount $7.48 - usually $14.95!

24 Hour Sale, Yippee!

What will you pick? I'm making a long list of stamp sets that I've wanted to get for the Holidays but I didn't quite want to bite the bullet on because, this Monday, for the first time that I know of (and I've been with Stampin' Up! for over ten years now, we are having a sale on ALL stamp sets, 15% off, yippee!  I am sweetening the deal with a little "extra" just from me... for every stamp set you purchase you may pick a handmade card from my big stash - I have boxes of them (I'm such a hoarder) and there are some beauties in there! If you order long distance then I will pick some cute ones and mail 'em out to you.

So get ready to call/email/text/smoke signal me with your orders! Or just go ahead and shop on my website www.brendamarshall.stampinup.net. The sale starts at midnight Sunday and ends at 11:50 p.m. Monday! Set your alarms! (But please don't call me in the middle of the night, haha) I'll be home all day Monday so feel free to stop by and shop in person too! (I might even have a little free make & take set up for you :-) )

This is one of my favorite stamp sets that you might have overlooked - it's called For the Birds and is a great all occasion set with greetings and cute images for every occasion. I cut the sentiment apart from the image on most of the stamps so I can use them separately or together - this simple trick gives you a lot more versatility.  It would usually cost $32.95 wood mount or $24.95 clear mount but on Monday it will be $28.00 wood mount or only $21.20 clear mount. Gotta love that!

I look forward to hearing from you... Have a terrific weekend! Brenda

Look what I found on my driveway!

I was sweeping the driveway when I saw my cat, Sadie, staring at this guy, isn't he amazing? It took me ages to get an in-focus picture and the whole time he was watching me as I moved around, spooky!

Sunshine!

I took this card outside to photograph it and there was a LOT of sunshine (which was good) and a LOT of wind (not so good!) I had to leap up and rescue it from around the yard several times before I could snap this shot!  I was glad nobody could see me as I would go to grab it just as it would fly off a few feet further, cute.
This was a make and take at our BLISS demonstrator team meeting last week - it uses a stamp set, Feel Goods, we got at Founder's that will be in the Occasions mini in the New Year. I really love the words on this sentiment, so true! I simply embossed the greeting on Watercolor paper and then used my Aquapainter and ink from the lid of my ink pads to add color. The Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon finished off my five minute card.

Items used:
Feel Goods stamp set
Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon
Watercolor Paper
Stamp Set
Pretty In Pink card stock
Aqua-painter
Regal Rose ink pad
Pumpkin Pie ink pad
Daffodil Delight ink pad
Versamark ink pad
Pewter embossing powder

Here is another card we made at Stamp Club this month. The great thing about our stamp clubs is we are able to learn these "stepped up" techniques & tricks... also, it's a great way to keep abreast of all the new toys! I love having this opportunity to share new ideas, plus it gives me a great excuse to get the new stuff so I can share it with all my clubs! Gotta love that!

Items used to make this card:
Early Espresso Core-dination Paper
Sanding System
Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon
Tweet Leaves Single Stamp
Autumn Leaves Bigz Die
Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder
Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set
Word Window Punch
Ribbon Slide
Marina Mist card stock
River Rock card stock

Shake your Booty!

I saw this adorable witch's broom that somebody had made at Founder's Circle and  I knew I had to case it for my stamp club girls. Even people who don't have trick or treaters would love to give this to a friend don't you think? Personally I like anything that celebrates us shaking our booty, don't you?! Haha!

Want to know how to make it? It was easy!
First take your sucker and color the stick with a Sharpie, take a coffee filter (I had to SEARCH to find the natural color, don't get me started on shopping in Bayfield again...!) ANYWAY - poke a hole in the center and slide it down over the lollipop. Snip the coffee filter all the way around. I put a little glue inside and then wound some linen thread around it to hold it in place.
Stamp the witch's boot from the super-cute stamp set, Bootiful Occasions, in Staz-on and punch out using the 2 1/2" circle punch, slice off one edge and adhere to a punched out 2 1/2" of circle designer series paper (I used the Howlingstooth & Scaringbone DSP from the Holiday catty, love it!)
Color in using Tangerine Tango and Gumball Green markers and add a punched Champagne Glimmer Circle to add a little bling.  Stamp the greeting and punch out using the Large Oval Punch, adhere to an Oval Scallop punched out of Tangerine Tango.

Easy Peasy and THANK YOU to the creator, but I don't know who that was, if you know please let me know so I can credit her.

Have a wonderful day, looking forward to Halloween!

Gumball Greetings!

I really love this card, it's something I could imagine making a whole stack of pretty easily.  Just one simple ornament stamped in Gumball Green just pops off the page thanks to the shape, easily cut out with the Holiday Ornaments framelits, love it!

She used the Core-dinations paper, also in Gumball Green, you are going to love this card stock! It has a white core (hence the name, core-dinations!)  Because of the white core when you run it through the Big Shot the card is distressed a little and the white core shows through! You can emphasize it further by sanding off the top layer using the new sanding system, something else you are going to love! We learned how to use this system in stamp club this month. Let me know if you'd like to hear more about club, we have way too much fun :-)

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Modern Ornaments

I just love this contemporary card I received at Founder's Circle, you can't quite see it but some of the "splatters" are done with the new Illuminate pad so it they have a subtle sheen - If you look carefully you can see some subtle piercing on this card too using the new Festive Piercing pack that you can get for free when you purchase the Ornament Keepsake stamp set or bundle plus Candlelight Christmas DSP!

Small Town Frustration!

Here are two projects for my upcoming Googlie Ghouls Halloween treat class.. I really wanted to tuck a couple of Ghirardhelli chocolates into the double treat holder but all I could get in Bayfield was a Twix, so sad! Of course they taste great but they just don't LOOK the same do they?   Don't you love how I wound crochet thread around the little mummy so he looks like he's unraveling? I copied that from an idea I saw at Founder's, so cute!

Would you like to try this class? It will be held on Tuesday, October 2nd, at 1 or 6:30 p.m. The little glassine bags in the kit are very easy to put together so we won’t be making them in the class, instead I will be providing candy plus all you need to make 4 adorable extra special spooky projects using a couple of pieces from your kit along with some additional supplies!

There are 2 options for this class:
  • $20 which includes the Googlie Ghouls “kit” that has10 vellum bags, 10 lengths of pumpkin pie baker’s twine, 20 die cut designer shapes and 50 googlie eyes!
  • For just $9 more you will ALSO get the matching stamp set too!
Of course you can just buy the kit or the bundle direct from my store at www.brendamarshall.stampinup.net
(This will have the kit contents listed above, but not the additional supplies for these extra projects)

Have a great week & I look forward to stamping with you soon! Brenda

Beautiful Frame Class!

I finally finished designing my projects for the Beautiful Frames class! We'll be making an altered chunky picture frame and a co-ordinating card with a handmade envelope. Please let me know as soon as possible if you're interested in this class because I only have a limit number of frames available and I can't get them anymore! If you sign up for the class you will receive the frame and a half pack of Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper so you can choose the colors and style that suit you best for the different components. You can take home the leftover pieces for future projects. Wouldn't this just be a perfect gift for your Mum? Or for a special girlfriend, sister or auntie? The class is $25 and will be held on Friday, March 23rd at 9 a.m. or Monday, March 26, at 6 p.m. Please email me to RSVP!

Great tip for using the new edgelit die!

Hi!

Have you seen the new edgelits and their matching embossing folders in the Occasions Mini? They are so cool but I was having trouble getting my embossing to line up with my cut edge... watch this short video to give you some great hints on how to use these two pieces together. (Wish I'd known this sooner!)

Another idea I learned at Leadership was to place the edgelit where you want it on your card and then use a post-it note to hold it in place. Saves a LOT of fiddling around! (Another tip I wished I'd known before I made 40 cards using these dies for my Leadership Swaps!)
