Teacher Appreciation Cards

I volunteered to make teacher thank you cards for the Bayfield Elementary School PTSA and thankfully I persuaded my friend Rhonda to come and help me or I would still be making them :-) We are lucky to have an AMAZING team of teachers (I have to write that because some of them are customers and friends but it's actually true too!)
Tomorrow I'm posting two more examples using soda cans including a cool Budweiser tin so come back tomorrow!

Update to the Flip Flop Picture!

I had an email from Cindy Russell who is a very talented stamper that was at the Spring Stamposium and she told me the Flip Flop card I posted yesterday was hers, I'm happy to have found her! It's acually a gift card holder. I remembered Cindy from the event because I loved her swap and it was chosen by the engagement team as the "Best Swap". She had made a really lovely Mother's Day card. You can see it on her blog at http://www.stampbystamp.blogspot.com/
Have a good day!

We Have A Winner!

Thank you so much to everybody who checked out our blog tour yesterday, that was so much fun! I loved visiting all the different blogs and saved LOTS of terrific ideas. I got a little obsessive about checking my stats to see how many people had passed through, how fun!

The (randomly selected) winner of my little boxes is (drum roll...)
BETSEY TERRY!
Please send me your address Betsey and I will fill up these little boxes and send them on their way to you.

I will definitely be joining another tour like this in the future so please watch out for that.

Today I am working on my On Board So Tweet chipboard class so I will be posting a sneak peek sample later today - be sure to check back!

Here's a picture of my land locked surfer dude, Finlay, with the box he made while I was making mine last week. He's made a bunch of these for his treasures and to give to his friends!

Have a great day and thank you again for stopping by!

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

Welcome to the Mini Occasions Blog Tour! I'm so glad you're stopping by my blog on this one day only virtual trip around the world. This is stop number 11. I have been playing with the Just Beachy stamp set, I HAD to buy this because my eldest son, Finlay, is obsessed with surfing, even though we live in Colorado, just about as far from the ocean as we could be!

I had a blast making these cute boxes using the Matchbox Big Shot die (also from the Occasions Mini). To add the greeting to this box I used a stamp from the Loads of Love accessories kit.

To make this box I punched out an oval using the wide oval punch, adhered a piece of window sheet behind the opening and stuck the fish on the front using a puffy Stampin' Dimensional. I love how you can see the other side of the Designer Series Paper peeking through.

The last project is one I photographed at this weekend's Spring Stamposium, I'm ashamed to say I didn't make a note of who stamped it but I love the glittery flip flops! If you know please let me know... (It was Cindy Russell! See update and link to her blog above)

Please be sure to leave me a comment to let me know you were here and I'll enter you into a drawing for all three Just Beachy boxes filled with little goodies for you! (I'll publish the winner's name on here tomorrow and you can send me your mailing address then.)

(Links to the other posts are now closed, watch out for the next tour!)

Spring Stamposium!

Well, I'm off to the Spring Stamposium(!) tomorrow with Paula, Tammy and Shoni. I'm looking forward to it but I'm getting pretty nervous about demo-ing in front of all those people! I'm on a Q&A panel too and I'm not too worried about that part, talking has never been too much of a problem for me, shutting me up is another story!
I'm going to demo using soda cans in stamping projects! Great timing with Earth Day, reduce, re-use, recyle... Here is a peek at one of the projects I'll be demo-ing. I'll put the others up next week. I imagine I'll have lots of other things to share then too, I'm packing my camera!
Don't forget to hop on over to my blog on Monday to jump on the blog tour! I'm excited for that and have made some cute projects using the Just Beachy stamp set to share. You will have the chance of WINNING a couple of the samples, how fun!
Have a great weekend! Brenda

On Board So Tweet Class

This is a fun class for beginning or long-time stampers!

We will be making a grocery list, a decorated tree branch(!) and a card. All projects use your choice of colors/patterns and a selection of images from the On Board So Tweet chipboard pack plus some fun embellishments. The best part is you learn new ways to decorate and use chipboard and then you get to take most of the pack home to play with! I am excited to do this class because I LOVE this line, I have had so much fun playing with it. It has a retro feel that reminds me of the TV shows of my youth: the Partridge Family, Brady Bunch etc.

Here are the details:
The class will be held at my house
Wednesday, April 29, 7:00 p.m. OR
Thursday, April 30, 9:00 a.m.
Cost $25 includes all materials and a whole pack of chipboard!

Please RSVP immediately so I can pre-order the packs for you. Class size is limited to six people.

Have a great week!

Crazy Busy Week!

I have just had the busiest week. It was fun but today my batteries ran out and I've just been plodding around feeling tired. I was even tired in my dreams last night... that's a bad sign!

So, what have I been busy with? Stamping! 2 Stamp clubs, 2 workshops (on the same day) 1 trip to the Manor. Lots of fun! Above is one of the fun samples we've been making - I used the Manhattan Texture Folder again, this time on vellum card stock. We cut out the image and then colored the oval using the stained glass technique. Super easy, stamp the image with black Stayz-on then just flip it over and use markers on the backside of the vellum. Easy Peasy Piece of Cheesy. Then we punched it out using the large oval punch and used the new scallop oval punch on the pale plum. I was thinking of making these for the teacher thank you's but don't fancy all that cutting out (see how I am?) I need to find something a tad quicker.

Super Easy Card!

This is such a quick and easy card. I ran the Urban Garden Designer Series Paper through the Big Shot with the Manhattan Flowers die and then quickly sanded off the surface with a sanding block. Because the DSP is white at the core this really makes the pattern pop. Quick and Easy, just my kind of card!

More Prom Stuff!

Back to the High School today to finish the party favors, they are too cute, but we ran out of candy :-( I'm sure that had nothing to do with the handfuls that kept getting "dropped" and needed somebody to help out by eating them! It went pretty fast and I had fun hanging out with the teenagers. Those days of worrying about school, friends and the opposite sex feel like a LONG time ago now. (And I'm pretty sure that's a good thing!)

So Tweet Candy Holder

We made this simple candy holder at our last BLISS demo meeting. The bird came from the So Tweet On Board set and we colored it using Versamark and Pastels, easy and fun! I used the stamp from the Trendy Trees to stamp the Versamark. It used to have a cello bag full of Cadbury Mini Eggs inside but they are long gone now ;-)

High School Prom

I went back to the High School today, their Senior Prom is next weekend and I've been helping with their invites, tickets and party favors. The teacher had a group of Juniors on detention who had to help! They were a great group and had a good attitude. We were assembling the party favors today - we had cut window sheets using the Pillowbox die and the Big Shot. They put candy in them and we were using Mini Glue Dots to hold them together, I don't have a picture of the favors but I do have an invite for you to see... we stamped them using the White Stayz-on. The theme of the prom is a Masquerade Ball.

It's Stamp Club Time

Stamp Club today. So much fun hanging out with a lovely group of ladies who love to stamp, what could be better? I had trouble choosing what to focus on this month though, I have all these new toys from the Occasions Mini and as usual I kind of want to show Everbody Everthing! Luckily, they're kind of used to it, and seem to roll with it ok! I ended up with a couple of projects using ribbon (being as we all seem to have plenty over from Sale-a-bration!) I'd love to share but I have to wait until after next Wednesday when I meet with the final group... I'll just have to share something different with you instead!
